Cop perjures himself but suffers no consequences

According to the NY Post, police officer Andrew Torres lied on the stand (there’s video proof) in the case of Andrew James, a repeat firearms offender. James got off (this time) but Torres suffered no consequences for his perjury. Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown should indict Torres tout de suite

Bloomberg’s police overwhelmed by motorcycle gangs

“They’re hell on wheels — and NYPD cops won’t touch them.

“The department has ordered cops not to chase after large biker groups like the one that beat a driver near the West Side Highway because of the risk that innocent bystanders or the riders will be killed, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

“ ‘The people who are doing this aren’t stopping when police try to pull them over,’ one source said, noting that the bikers can simply jump sidewalks and mow down pedestrians to flee cops.

“The department also doesn’t have the manpower to police the rogue riders, who get together for pop-up outings and often use unregistered bikes.”

Mayor uses BLOOMBERG.NET email address for official business

When Hizzoner wants to hide his correspondence from discovery under the Freedom of Information Law, he uses his BLOOMBERG.NET email account. In fact, much of his inner circle also has those accounts: deputy mayors Patty Harris, Cas Holloway and Robert Steel; chief policy adviser John Feinblatt; director of intergovernmental affairs Haeda Mihaltses, Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott; counselor to the mayor Michael Best; senior adviser Shea Fink and mayoral spokesman Marc LaVorgna.

But if YOU want privacy, good luck.

Bikers try to commandeer highway, but cat gets Bloomberg’s tongue

“The psycho bikers who viciously beat a Manhattan driver in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter were at first trying to slow the man down so they could get in front of him and take over the West Side Highway, law-enforcement sources told The Post on Tuesday.”

But Mayor Bloomberg, known to drunk-rant over almost anything, has had zip to say about the beat-down or the perpetrators.

Bloomberg takes 10 months to appoint new Housing Authority board

Last year, Bloomberg promised to replace the overpaid hacks on the NYCHA board. Well, he’s finally gotten around to it, but not before giving Margarita Lopez a new job at the same agency. Clearly, Bloomberg’s  political pets get parked at the Housing Authority.

New Housing Authority Board Picked by Bloomberg » The Epoch Times.

Is Bloomberg a jerk? Sure, but recent headlines do him an injustice.

The headline writers are going apeshit over a recent Bloomberg interview in New York Magazine. But I’ve read the interview and it hardly supports the hysterical headlines:

Bloomberg accuses N.Y. mayoral candidate de Blasio of ‘racist’ tactics

Bloomberg: NYC mayoral candidate running “racist” campaign

Mayor Bloomberg: Bill de Blasio’s campaign is ‘racist’

There’s more than enough stupid things Bloomie has done without resorting to making stuff up.

Bloomberg endorses notorious rave promoter Mike Bindra

Two people died at the recently-shuttered Electric Zoo rave festival on Randall’s Island, but NYC Mayor Bloomberg isn’t concerned. “We’ve been working with this promoter for the last five years and they have a stellar record,’’ Mayor Bloomberg told reporters yesterday. “They . . . put in as good of procedures as we could think of and have been nothing but cooperative, and I have nothing but good things to say.”

Bloomberg goes on drunken rant against Federal judge

From the NY Post:

Saying judges who try to run city agencies from the bench “don’t have the competency to do it,” Bloomberg tore into federal justice Shira Scheindlin for limiting police tactics that he insists have made the city safer.

“What does she know about policing? Absolutely zero,” Bloomberg said on his weekly radio appearance. “Your safety and the safety of your kids is now in the hands of some woman who does not have the expertise to do it.”

“It’s easy for somebody in a court to say ‘Oh [the cop] should have done this or should have done this,’” Bloomberg added. “The public has got to step back and say ‘Wait a second, there’s something really wrong here. It’s not the job of the judges to run agencies.’”

Oh, wait: Bloomberg was SOBER when he said this. My bad.
