Scalia Forms Search Committee for New Pope

According to the New Yorker magazine, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said today that he was forming an “independent search committee” to select a new Pope.

I’m sorry it had to come to this. The Pope said he doesn’t want to speak out against abortion and gay marriage. Well, sorry, my friend, but that’s the entire job description. You should have thought of that before you let them blow that white smoke in Rome.

Rep. Steve King sets Pope Francis straight

Abortion and gay marriage? Yes. Inequality and climate change? No.

Iowa Congressman Steve King has explained what Pope Francis should talk about when he addresses Congress today:

I’m hopeful that Pope Francis will speak to these two issues: One is the church’s unfailing and steadfast opposition to abortion, the position that life begins at the moment of conception and it ends at natural death, and the dignity of every human person. That’s a position of the Roman Catholic Church that’s really unassailable and I’m hopeful that that position will be reiterated from the floor of Congress next week. I’m looking forward to that. Second component that is so strong among the Catholic Church is the position of marriage, and it being between a man and a woman.

King is an idiot.

The slope gets slippery — polyamorous marriages to be the next civil rights frontier

A Montana man said Wednesday that he was inspired by last week’s U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage to apply for a marriage license so that he can legally wed his second wife. “It’s about marriage equality,” Nathan Collier, of Billings, MT, told The Associated Press Wednesday.

. . . and the Bitemaster predicts many more such fights, ultimately including efforts to force clergy to perform weddings for gays and others.

Following Supreme Court decision on gay marriage, disestablisment gains traction in Mississippi

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex couples have a right to marry, some state officials are looking into opting out of issuing marriage licenses entirely. Republican Mississippi state Rep. Andy Gipson, the chairman of the state house judiciary committee, told the Clarion-Ledger that the state is looking into eliminating state marriage licenses. “One of the options that other states have looked at is removing the state marriage license requirement,” he said. “We will be researching what options there are. I personally can see pros and cons to that. I don’t know if it would be better to have no marriage certificate sponsored by the state or not. But it’s an option out there to be considered.”

Southern Baptist Convention issues manual on how to evade civil rights laws

The Southern Baptist manual, Protecting Your Ministry From Sexual Orientation Gender Identity Lawsuits, shows employers how to protect themselves from any civil rights lawsuit brought by a fired employee, by pretending that all your employees are ministers.

As soon as someone can get us a copy of this gem, Biteme Inc. plans to have all our maintenance staff teach the Gospel, middle managers will lead Muslim prayers five times a day, the cafeteria staff will indoctrinate diners in the ways of Pastafarianism, the financial staff (they’re already all Jewish) will lead daily davening, C-suite execs will become our catechists, and the marketing department will go abroad in saffron robes with their Buddhist begging bowls.

Just to be clear — the Bitemaster is a big supporter of religion. But assholes, even religious ones, can Bite Me.

Bill Maher asks Ann Coulter: Would your ‘imaginary friend’ Jesus approve of your anti-immigrant rants?

Disclosure: I haven’t watched the confrontation between rich media whores Maher and Coulter.

Bill Maher and Ann Coulter are two peas in a pod. Both have made lucrative careers out of low blows. Maher takes his ire out on anyone religious. Coulter is less discriminating — she hates everyone.

God unleashes ‘Relentless wall of water’ upon Texas as punishment for Gov. Abbott opposition to gay marriage

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, reiterated his support for the state’s ban on gay marriage in February. Now God has retaliated by unleashing floods of Biblical proportions, sweeping away several of Abbott’s constituents in a wall of water.

Abbott has said the damage caused by flash-flooding in Central Texas is “absolutely devastating . . . absolutely massive . . . [with] relentless tsunami-type power.” If that doesn’t convince the Gov that God has a message for him, he’s dumber than we thought.

God smites North Carolina

In 2012, North Carolina passed a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state:

Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.

In response, the Almighty has polluted the North Carolina drinking water with lead, vanadium, and hexavalent chromium. Brimstone (i.e., sulfur) is, no doubt, coming soon.

Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi shares anti-Buddhist hate with Taliban and ISIS

In response to the earthquake in Nepal, the “Rabbi” tweeted:

All he idols worshiping places n nepal are now destroyed [sic]

His disgusting comment is in line with Taliban destruction of Buddhist statues and ISIS threats to bomb a Buddhist temple.

Nice company you’re keeping, Rabbi.

Christian terrorist murders 150, pastor says that he fully supports the family and stands by him

In March, German Lutheran Andreas Lubitz piloted a Germanwings airplane into the French Alps, killing all 150 aboard.

It’s not clear at this time whether Rev. Michael Dietrich’s church in Montabuar was where Lubitz was groomed for his terrorist mission, but it’s unquestionable that Lutherans have been notoriously Christian for hundreds of years.

The Christian threat is not limited to Germany, however. In recent years, Christians have been infiltrating the US government and now make up a majority of both the Supreme Court and the Congress. Fortunately, the presidency is still safely in the hands of a Muslim.
