A Christian terrorist wearing all black and toting a rifle shot and killed three cops in Baton Rouge and wounded three more Sunday. The man, identified as Gavin Eugene Long of Missouri, is suspected of being a member of either New Freedom Group or the Sovereign Citizens.
Conservative blogs are already blaming President Obama, who is suspected of being a closet Christian, for the killings.

In a vitriolic message emailed to his supporters, Catholic League President Bill Donohue celebrated the defeat of the Child Victims Act that would have made it easier for kid sex abuse victims to seek justice. He blasted the legislation as ”a vindictive bill pushed by lawyers and activists out to rape the Catholic Church.”
There are reasonable arguments to be made both in favor and against extending the statute of limitations in such cases, but Donohue can bite me.

It turns out that the Almighty wants Donald Trump to be the Republican candidate and maybe — God help us — President.
As for Hillary and Bernie, it looks like God is still undecided.

The Bitemaster thinks that Bachmann could be right: that God is indeed humiliating Obama through terror attacks in Paris and Brussels. Of course, God also elevated Obama to President — twice! — in a display of Divine approval. God even showed displeasure with Bachmann in 2012 by engineering Bachmann’s stunning failure in the Iowa caucuses that year.
The confusing thing is why God would choose to rain terror down on the United States on September 11, 2001, during George W. Bush’s presidency. I can only say that She works in mysterious ways.

In his speech Wednesday calling for civility in politics, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) dramatically backed away from his own past rhetoric against people on welfare — which to many people seemed like the foundation of his entire political agenda for many years.
Rep. Paul Ryan’s “I’m Not an Objectivist Tour,” which began in 2012, is still going strong. In each city he visits, he gives speeches denouncing his past allegiance to Ayn Rand and calling on his followers to accept Thomas Aquinas as their personal savior. Michael Rapino, President of Live Nation, the country’s largest concert promoter, said, “I’ve never seen anything like it. I thought the last Guns ‘n’ Roses tour was huge, but it was nothing compared to this. Ryan’s been doing this for four years now and shows no sign of slowing down. It’s amazing.”

Schumer is widely expected to become leader of Senate Democrats in the next Congress.
On Tuesday, Sen. Schumer said that temporarily rejecting Syrian refugees from entering the United States “may be necessary” in the wake of terrorist attacks in Paris.
On Thursday, after a national security briefing, Schumer said “What they [Executive branch terrorism experts? Left wing pundits? My cousin Vinnie?] showed us is this: There are about 2,000 refugees who have come here from Syria over the last four years. None have been arrested or deported for terrorism. None.”
Like the senator, I’m not sure where I stand on admitting Syrian refugees. But I’m just “some blogger,” not one of the most powerful members of the U.S. Senate.

A Texas law aimed at restricting abortions, which took effect in 2013, has led to more women trying to end a pregnancy on their own, while the number of clinical procedures in the state has declined, according to a study released on Tuesday.
And conservatives everywhere are thinking, “Thank God we’ve gone back to the good old days when poor women used coat hangers and the daughters of the rich were sent for a vacation at a ‘clinic’ in Switzerland.”

. . . my bill will mandate that religious studies not be taught before grades 10-12. . . . My bill also mandates that only a study of comparative religion, as it relates to history or geography, may be taught but that no religion shall be emphasized or focused on over another religion.
Finally, if the curriculum standards in grades prior to grades ten through twelve include a reference to a specific religion or the role and importance of a religion in history or geography, then the state board shall ensure that the reference does not amount to teaching any form of religious doctrine to the students.

When Pope Francis goes around comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable, it just gets my goat. Like any patriotic American, I believe in the American Dream of wealth and fame. If we could just give free enterprise a real chance in this country, we would all be rich like Donald Trump or Kim Kardashian. But Francis wants jack-booted thugs to seize our homes and give them away to the lazy Mexicans who have already taken all our jobs. He’s probably not even a Catholic. Remember how he washed the feet of that Muslim girl? Would a real Catholic do that? I don’t think so. I heard he’s not even Italian. Weird, isn’t it?
