Thanks to MrMild, we’ve learned that filmmaker Charlie Lyne made a 10 hour film of paint drying, then raised money on Kickstarter to pay the British Board of Film Classification to watch the damn thing.
Apparently, any movie shown in the UK must be rated by the Board, and getting rated costs about $10 per minute. Once a film is submitted with the proper fee, two examiners sit and watch it while taking notes. They then use those notes to decide on a rating.
You can imagine that Lynn doesn’t like the system, but he’s now forced a pair of those civil servants to sit in a dark screening room in Soho Square and watch 607 minutes of paint drying.
Let’s hoist a pint of warm beer to Charlie Lyne.
PS: The film was rated “U,” meaning “no material likely to offend or harm.”

Planned Parenthood filed a federal lawsuit Thursday alleging extensive criminal misconduct by anti-abortion activists Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, and Troy Newman, who produced undercover videos targeting the handling of fetal tissue at some Planned Parenthood clinics.
The suit alleges that the activists engaged in a complex criminal enterprise to defraud Planned Parenthood, violated the Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO Act), engaged in wire fraud, mail fraud, invasion of privacy, illegal secret recording and trespassing.
So the Bitemaster did a little Internet search to learn more and found only references to suits for fraud filed against Planned Parenthood.

More than any other generation, Millennials are militant about the use of offensive language towards minorities, and are rejecting the idea of a blanket right to “free speech.” A Pew report published on Friday revealed that 40 percent of Millennials in America (aged 18 to 34) were in favor of the government limiting hateful speech offensive to minorities.
The First Amendment was written by old white men to protect the privileges of old white men like themselves. It’s time to fuck that white privilege and support the rage of oppressed women and minorities.

The NRA says it’s just trying to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens to buy guns — even if their names appear on a terror watch list.
Apparently the NRA has a non-discrimination policy when it comes to gun ownership. Current laws have allowed more than 2,000 suspects on the FBI’s Terror Watchlist to legally purchase weapons from 2004 and 2014, but the NRA is stalling a bill in Congress that would make it harder for people on the list to get guns.

NYPD Officers arrest demonstrator Kim Ortiz at a People’s Monday last summer, ostensibly for “Obstructing Vehicular Traffic” while crossing the street in a crosswalk, with the light, with half a dozen other unmolested citizens.
Demonstrators in New York City, under both De Blasio and Bloomberg before him, get whisked away to where their lawyers, friends, news media and bail bondsmen cannot find them.
No, the Bitemaster will not compare NYC to Chile or Argentina, but what goes on here shocks the conscience of anyone who cares about the Bill of Rights.

. . . my bill will mandate that religious studies not be taught before grades 10-12. . . . My bill also mandates that only a study of comparative religion, as it relates to history or geography, may be taught but that no religion shall be emphasized or focused on over another religion.
Finally, if the curriculum standards in grades prior to grades ten through twelve include a reference to a specific religion or the role and importance of a religion in history or geography, then the state board shall ensure that the reference does not amount to teaching any form of religious doctrine to the students.

One-time tennis star James Blake was body-slammed to the sidewalk and handcuffed by the NYPD, in first instance of new police policy.
New York City Police Commissioner William Joseph Bratton CBE has clarified that the recent outrage over the violent takedown of James Blake outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel is misplaced, saying, “The NYPD will no longer coddle white collar criminals. In the past, those accused of so-called street crimes got body slammed while the white collar guys got to arrange through their attorney for a quiet surrender to authorities. No longer. From now on, all suspected crooks get body slammed, thrown to the ground and handcuffed. It’s only fair.”
When asked about Blake being black as well as being the wrong guy, Bratton said, “Mistakes get made and and when we make them, we apologize. So far, both the Mayor and I have apologized to Mr. Blake. What more does he want from us? Blood?”
When pressed about the arresting officer, James Frascatore, being in plainclothes, not identifying himself as a police officer, and having a documented history of excessive force, the Commissioner said, “sit down already, let someone else ask a question, ok?”

The NYPD is setting up a special task force to watch nipples in Times Square. Media reports say that the task force will consist of about 100 police officers. With about 8 women strutting their stuff in the square (because of all the media coverage, there may be more now), that comes to about six officers per nipple.
