Bride’s Dad Stops Wedding So Stepdad Can Walk Down The Aisle Too

Bride’s Dad Stops Wedding So Stepdad Can Walk Down The Aisle Too

The Bitemaster has gone all soft on you today. After years of documenting people being assholes, I sometimes have to take a break and recognize a person being just plain decent.

When Todd Bachman’s daughter got married last weekend, he wanted to make sure that her stepfather was recognized at the wedding in some way. After all, her stepdad had helped raise her.  So when it came time to walk his daughter Brittany down the aisle, Bachman stopped the procession, ran to the front row and grabbed her stepdad Todd Cendrosky in order to share the honor of walking their daughter down the aisle.

Awwwwww . . .

Now back to excoriating jerks.

  1. On the one hand, I applaud this man for the decency he showed. A lot of the time, weddings in blended families turn into battles over these kinds of things, battles in which everyone ends up hurt and sometimes people don’t speak to each other for years afterward. Given all of that, this man showed tremendous grace in what he did.

On the other hand, isn’t it time the antiquated practice of the bride being given away died? One thing I like about Jewish weddings is that both the bride and groom are walked down the aisle by both of their respective parents. Didn’t Mom deserve to be included in walking this bride-to-be down the aisle?
