Indiana Is A Great Place To Be A Bigot

Now that Indiana has passed a so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act, designed to protect the right of Indiana citizens to discriminate against anyone they don’t like (i.e., gay people), the Hoosier State is officially a great place to be a bigot.

Paid for by the Indiana Board of Terrible People.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) refused to say on Sunday whether it should be illegal under state law to discriminate against gays and lesbians. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/29/mike-pence-indiana-discrimination_n_6964214.html The Bitemaster is shocked, I tell you, just shocked!

The Act’s sponsor in the Indiana House of Representatives was Tim Wesco. His campaign website says

“If we intend to ensure the continuing viability of the policies that are embedded in our state’s statutory laws protecting marriage, we must amend our constitution to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

“Since 2004, the Indiana Senate has passed a marriage amendment multiple times, but repeatedly, the measure has failed to make it through the House of Representatives. We cannot afford to give in now. History tells us that persistence prevails. We must re-introduce this amendment again, and again, and again, until we prevail, because marriage matters.” http://blog.timothywesco.com/2010/03/why-indiana-must-constitutionally.html

Wesco is also Assistant Pastor of a church. His church website says:

“We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.” http://calvarybaptistelkhart.org/about/our-stand.html [Apparently polygamy and sodomy are ok. Woo hoo!]

Dusty Dionne, a High Priest and High Summoner of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church, says “We are the fifth-largest religion in America,” he said, “and we are the fastest growing. If they pass these laws, we are going to beat a fucking drum.”
