  1. Unfortunately, this is a clear cut issue. Places of public accommodation have to serve the public. To me, this and all of the silliness about bakers being given permission to not sell wedding cakes to same sex couples is exactly the kind of issue that was resolved in 1964 in Heart of Atlanta Motel v. United States, which ruled that the Civil Rights Act’s requirements that hotels, restaurants, and other businesses must serve all customers regardless of race.
