Having studied Republican playbook, Carly Fiorina vomits forth a Big Lie

Carly Fiorina, the failed Republican businesswoman, recently said that Hillary Clinton “lacks accomplishment.”

Leaving aside Fiorina’s trail of business and political failures, let’s review some of Clinton’s accomplishments:

  • Attorney (Yale Law School, law review)
  • Partner, Rose Law Firm
  • Co-founder, Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families
  • Board member, Arkansas Children’s Hospital Legal Services, Children’s Defense Fund, Legal Services Corporation, Wal-Mart Stores
  • U.S. Senator, eight years
  • U.S. Secretary of State, four years

Fiorina could have come up with actual reasons for not supporting Clinton, but she chose to make shit up instead.

Indiana Governor Pence Insists New Law Has Nothing To Do With Thing It Explicitly Intended To Do

Addressing the controversy surrounding his state’s recently signed Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Indiana governor Mike Pence forcefully insisted to reporters Monday that the new law has nothing at all to do with what it was explicitly intended to do. “Let me state directly that in no way is this law designed to allow the kind of anti-gay discrimination that is the law’s single reason for existing,” said Pence, emphasizing that provisions authorizing businesses to refuse service to gay customers were nothing more than the only explanation for the law being drafted in the first place. “Regardless of the widespread misconceptions surrounding it, I want to reassure Hoosiers of all backgrounds that this law will never be interpreted in the way it was unambiguously designed to be from the very beginning.” Pence further clarified that the act’s sole purpose was in fact to safeguard the free exercise of religion it was in no way whatsoever created to protect.

Andrew Cuomo moves state officials from email to Snapchat

In an effort to make NY state government more efficient, all state employees will have their email accounts closed and be given new accounts on Snapchat, where their messages will be automatically deleted in 10 seconds.

Cuomo announced, “This will make NY state government more nimble, more responsive, and more transparent, as well as saving hundreds of trees every week.”

Responding to critics who said this would make it harder for prosecutors to track illegal activities of state officials, Cuomo said, “Some people out there are whinny pussies who don’t want us to embrace the latest technological improvements.”

NY Times plays kissy face with Chris Christie

When Times reporter Mark Leibovich wrote of Governor Christie “he did not halt passage of a same-sex-marriage bill in New Jersey last year,” he must have known that it wasn’t true. In fact Christie had vetoed the gay marriage bill and then fought against the lawsuit that followed. After losing the lawsuit, Christie decided to surrender.

Saying that Christie did not halt passage of a same-sex-marriage bill is like saying that Japan didn’t oppose the Potsdam Declaration.

Chris Christie Lying . . . Again

Christie, speaking at the annual conference of the Faith & Freedom Coalition:

Name me the one pro-life Democrat who has ever been able and allowed to speak at a Democratic National Convention since Roe v. Wade. Don’t strain yourself, because there’s never been one. Theirs is the party that’s intolerant …

It’s a flat-out lie, as has been proven in the past. In fact, in the years since Roe v. Wade, Democratic conventions have featured over a dozen anti-abortion speakers.

CIA misled on interrogation program

A report by the Senate Intelligence Committee concludes that the CIA misled the government and the public about aspects of its brutal interrogation program for years — concealing details about the severity of its methods, overstating the significance of plots and prisoners, and taking credit for critical pieces of intelligence that detainees had in fact surrendered before they were subjected to harsh techniques.

“The CIA described [its program] repeatedly both to the Department of Justice and eventually to Congress as getting unique, otherwise unobtainable intelligence that helped disrupt terrorist plots and save thousands of lives,” said one U.S. official briefed on the report. “Was that actually true? The answer is no.”

Department of Justice does zilch against mortgage fraud, then fakes its statistics

Adapted from Above the Law:

A few months ago, the FBI had quietly admitted that its primary function was no longer law enforcement but rather “national security.” Instead the FBI is putting a huge part of its budget towards “counterterrorism” while its efforts to take down white collar crime is dropping significantly.

This is confirmed by new report from the Justice Department’s Inspector General. It notes that, despite President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder promising that cracking down on mortgage fraud was a top priority, the FBI has actually put it near the bottom of the list of actual priorities.

The DOJ then pretended that it had been fighting mortgage fraud and put on a whole presentation about its success — based on totally faulty numbers. Numbers that it was pretty sure were faulty — and then took nearly a year to admit that their claims of success were based on bogus stats.
