Dame Edna Everage — nominated for Biteme Person of the Year (for 2003)

In 2003, Barry Humphries’ character, Dame Edna, made some snarky remarks about Spanish which raised a huge stir, including a denunciation by actress Selma Hayek.

When Dame Edna was questioned about the controversy on the eve of her 2003 Australian tour, she retorted that Hayek’s denunciation was due to “professional jealousy”, and that Hayek was envious because the role of painter Frida Kahlo (for which Hayek received an Oscar nomination) had originally been offered to Edna.

Miley Cyrus can bite me

Miley Cyrus in her interview with Matt Lauer:

“I heard when you turn 40 things start to go a little less sexual, so probably around 40, around that time, I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore.” When Lauer said that he’s 55, Cyrus replied,  “Well, then you’re really, definitely not sexual.”

Billion dollar Michael Jackson negligent death case starts in LA

As part of his contract with concert promoter AEG Live, Michael Jackson insisted that they hire Dr. Conrad Murray as his personal physician. Murray, being no fool, supplied Jackson with all the drugs he wanted. Unfortunately, the drugs Jackson wanted killed him.

Murray was eventually convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

Now Jackson’s family is suing AEG Live for their role in Jackson’s death.

Oh just Bite Me already — plenty of musicians and singers have died from drugs and IT WAS THEIR OWN DAMN FAULT.

It turns out that it IS the devil’s music

“A close analysis of the top 20 songs on the 2011 Billboard charts reveals little about long-term commitment. There are almost no direct references to fidelity. There is a lack of a family element.

“And there are no references to regret.

“Popular song lyrics are having commitment issues. Studies have shown that references to sex, drugs and alcohol are not only becoming more blatant, they are affecting listeners.”

Garth Brooks makes $500,000 profit on donation to hospital

Country music superstar Garth Brooks gave half a million dollars to an Oklahoma hospital. He later claimed that they promised to build a women’s center and name it after his late mother, but didn’t. So he sued to get his money back. The hospital showed evidence that the discussions had included a figure as high as $15 million, which makes more sense. Even in rural Oklahoma I doubt you can build much for $500,000. But Brooks testified as to his recollections and the jury awarded him his money back plus $500,000 in punitive damages. BITE ME, Brooks.

Tabitha Stevens is full of it

The LA City Council is planning to require condoms in locally-produced porn films. But porn producer Tabitha Stevens is against the new ordinance, saying , “If you want to wear them, wear them. If you don’t, don’t. That’s up to the talent to decide. It shouldn’t be up to the government to decide.” Bull pizzle! The same article makes clear that the porn producers plan to leave the county if the law is enforced. Tabith Stevens can . . . ummm . . . ummm . . .
